Happy Things

A few weeks ago I reaized that I need to LOOK for the HAPPY THINGS each day so that I will realize that they really are there EVERYDAY!  So I started writing them down where I could see them.  It's amazing how fast the list will fill up!  There are so many HAPPY THINGS happening in our life right now, I need to share some of them!
1.  My sister Izzy is engaged!  She and Scott are getting married in October and we are so excited for them!  I love how HAPPY they both make each other.

2.  We got a van!  In our four years of marriage we have mostly always had one car (except for intership semester when Tyrel drove a Ford Taurus with 200,000 miles on it :)  But we have been saving and then working towards another job to make up the rest.  And after a few weeks of hunting we found the one. We LOVE it!  Now we have a second vehicle and one that does not hav 147,000 miles on it!

3.  Silas and Logie Bear are getting to the stage where they LOVE to play together.  Silas will be in their room playing and call for him, "Hey Mom, tell Logie to come play with Brother!"

4.  We had a wonderful visit with Mom and Dad King.  We went to Wheeler's Farm with them and Uncle Ray, and they all came out to our house for dinner and to hang out, and basically got to see the boys do their normal thing.  It was good times!

5.  Tyrel discovered that I won't have to buy a new pair of shoes for Silas because duct tape works just fine!  jk :)  He was trying to ride a tricycle with no shoes and the poky things were hurting his feet, Tyrel happened to have some duct tape in his hand and used it.  All the rest of the kids who were playing started begging for duct tape shoes too!

Blessings from Heaven

Since January of this year, Tyrel has been looking for a new job.  He loved his job but if we were ever going to accomplish any of our goals, or ever be able to get anything medical done without breaking the bank, we needed some benefits and some more sallary.  So it has been a long and frustrating road, but last Wednesday we got the best news!  Tyrel had had a screening interview with the state of Utah, then he got called back for an in-person interview and was told to not expect to hear anything until the beginning of the next week (it was Monday).  Well that night he got a call back saying they wanted to further discuss the position with him.  So he went in on Wednesday, had a nice chat with a few of the guys in charge and came out with a job offer..which of course he accepted!  It sounds all simple but it really wasn't.  Lots of prayers and fasting were answered, and we know that he was offered this job through the powers of Heaven!  We are so grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who watches over us, who has helped us to learn great lessons in budgeting and saving for things. A Father who has taught us lessons in patience and in faith.  Thanks to all of you for your prayers too!  So next Wednesday, Tyrel starts his new job at the State as a Financial Analyst in the Department of Technology.  This job will provide AWESOME health benefits, a 401K, pto, more sallary, and every Friday off because he will be working 4-10's.  Now we are able to get our van we have been saving for, and we can save to get into a house too!  Can't tell you how excited, proud of my husband, and grateful that I am!

Love this Man!

Better late than never right?  On the 12th, Tyrel and I celebrated our 4th anniversary!  Time sure flies!  So why am I so in LOVE with this man?  I'll tell you...
1.  He alway knows how to fix me...and he's fast at it!  When I've had a bad day or am super stressed, all he has to do is just walk in the door, do his thing, and I'm better (or better than I was!)
2.  He knows how to make me laugh!  One time he sang "Lady and the Tramp" to the Beauty and the Beast theme (unknowingly) and I laughed SO HARD!  I told him that whenever I need a laugh he has to sing that to me and he does.
3.  He is the BEST DADDY!  Anyone who's ever seen him playing with his two boys knows this!  I love to watch him snuggling with them on the love sac playing, watching a show, or reading stories.
4.  He is a HARD WORKER!  He works so hard to provide for us and make sure that we always have what we need.
5.  He is my cheerleader.  He is ALWAYS cheering me on, I can't even remember one time when he didn't 100% support me in whatever I choose to do.  He still tells me I'm amazing everytime I bore him with the specifics of another fabulous couponing trip!
6.  He is KIND.  I am always having people tell me that I got a good one, or that he's such a nice guy.  And I just have to smile and say, "I know!"

Wow, I could keep going but I'll just stop there and say "I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART!"  Thanks for being the best!

Girl's Night!

So this post has no pictues, just a story.  Last night I went on a Girl's Night (it has been a LONG time since the last one!)  My sisters and my friend Nisa an I were going to see "Eclipse" at the Megaplex.  We were all seated with our popcorn and drinks and licorish, got through the previews, saw the opening scene...and all of a sudden...BLANK!  The screen went blank and the movie was gone.  Well I must be cursed so I'm sorry to everyone in the theater becase the same thing happened to me at the same theater when I went to see "Twilight".  They came in and told us it would be about 5-10 minutes.  Then 5 minutes later they came in and apologized that it was a big problem and could not be fixed that night.  Bummer...but what can you do?  It's not like they planned to ruin our movie right?  But I didn't feel too badly after they gave us a movie ticket to pay for the one we just bought and another free one for our troubles!  So we went back to Nisa's and played "Dominion", a GREAT game that I recommend to all.  My sisters absolutely spanked me at it but still a great time.  So here's to more Girl's Nights...I definitely need them! Oh and THANKS to my sweetheart for watching my boys and Nisa's son, isn't he the best!?

So Grateful this Independence Day!

So this Independence Day weekend we had SO much fun!  It felt like the weekend that just kept giving and giving and that we were given so much time to play!  Besides fun though, it was especially meaningful this time and we couldn't get our thoughts off of our troops and how grateful we are for them and their families who sacrifice! During the parade, there were several original Army jeeps with veterans riding in them.  Also, the jeeps included signs in tribute to some of their family members who had lost their lives in the service of our country.  There were soldiers who walked along the sides of the parade giving high fives to the kids.  Each time that one stopped and high fived Silas, I kept thinking of his Uncle Jon.  I'm so proud of my brother and grateful for him.  He has been away from his wife and 9 month-old son since January as he is working to complete his military training.  They are now blessed to be able to see each other on weekends.  I know I couldn't do it, but I have a great respect for those who do!  So as our tribute to our troops, especially those in our family, my boys were in the children's parade on Friday night and proudly waved their signs!  When Silas saw Daddy, Aunt Izzy, and Sarah, he waved and smiled so excitedly.  When Izzy asked what his sign said, he responded, "Thank you Uncle Jon!"
