Yay for Tyrel!

Tyrel has been studying ever since our last semester (summer) in college for the Series 7 Exam. It is pretty much a stock brocker's licensing exam that he will need to have for his finance job that starts in November. Today he went to take the 5 hour test......AND HE PASSED! Hallelujia! We were all so excited and it is nice that he won't have to be studying or stressing about that every night anymore. On Saturday we are going to go our to Rodizio Brazilian Grill to celebrate!

We had a ward Halloween party tonight and we went as the Star Wars gang. My sister, Izzy is a genius with costumes...she truely has a gift! She can walk through D.I. and see some random thing on a shelf, and say, "That would be good for this costume!" She accumulates things and keeps them all together in her costume boxes. Then, when we have an event where we need to dress up, she goes to work. Silas loved the carnival game where he got to sweep the ball into the pumpkin. Actually, he really just liked the ball and liked to sweep the floor!

Silas the Chef

Silas loves to help in the kitchen. He helps to load the silverware into the dishwasher and even faces them all the correct way. When I put a dirty cutting board in the dishwasher, he will take it out and put it where the clean cutting boards go.

Yesterday I was peeling potatoes to put in a stew and I put the bag of potatoes on the floor. Silas pulled a potato out and said, "Ball!" Then he put the nice and dirty potato in his mouth. I took it away and kept peeling potatoes. Then I noticed he had pulled another one out and it was a rotten one. So I hurried and took it away and threw it in the garbage saying, "Yucky!" I went back to peeling and Silas pulled another potato out of the bag, went over to the garbage, and threw it in. I told him "no" but he didn't understand. He now thought his job in life was to help me by throwing several potatoes in the garbage. So finally I put the bag up on the counter!

The Greatest Show on Earth and the ZOO!

We went to the zoo with our friends Shelley and Jerod and had tons of fun! This is us riding the train. Silas was very tired by this point in the day.

He loved to watch the monkeys, and Tyrel taught him how to be a monkey by making noise and scratching his belly.

We had a picnic lunch in the park.

We first went to the pre-show at the circus where we could go down on the floor and see some animals and clowns. Silas know how to point to his/our nose and he kept pointing to Tyrel's nose because he saw all the funny clown noses.

We bought him a canon that shoots a man out of it and it can shoot pretty far!

Finally a Trip to the Farm

We were finally able to make a trip to the farm to visit Tyrel's family. Janet and Ray rode up with us, poor them...they had to ride in the back seat with a screaming kid.On Saturday morning, we drove to Idaho Falls to watch Brodie's football game and then it started pooring rain. Luckily it stopped and Brodie's team wasted the other team! This is a picture of the wives snuggling for warmth.
Later that day we shot pellet guns and the girls weren't bad at all...we had great teachers!

Tyrel took Silas on his first four-wheeler ride and he LOVED it! Don't worry, Tyrel's eyes weren't really closed during the ride.

Catching Up

So it turns out that since I started student teaching, I have had absolutely no time! I finally got a chance today and that is why there are so many blog posts. At my school, we had a Tech Trek carnival to raise money for docucameras and Silas got to sit in one of these little racers.
It has been a constant battle to try and get Silas to brush his teeth/let us brush his teeth! We sit him in the sink and he has a cool little fire engine toothbrush that spins and lights up. But he still has to use every toothbrush in the cup and I basically have to pin him down to brush his teeth!

Sometime last month we went to the Utah Fair and watched the rodeo with Janet and Ray.

Trip to Washington

My Uncle Chuck passed away so we made a long drive to Clarkston, Washington for the funeral. It was sad and unexpected to loose Uncle Chuck, but I take comfort in the Plan of Happiness that our Father in Heaven has given us. I take comfort in my Savior Jesus Christ and in the Atonement that He made for each person. I know that Uncle Chuck is free from the challenges he was given on this earth.

It was really nice to see my mom's side of the family who we haven't seen in many years. The military came to pay tribute at the funeral and Jon and Tyrel were checking out their guns afterward.

Silas made great friends with my cousin's daughter, Irene.

This was the first time I had met my cousin's kids Beth, and Bradley, and Alex was a baby last time I say him!
