Summer is Finally Here!

With our new background, I am celebrating that it is no longer snowing, rainy, and windy (okay it's a little windy still) in Rexburg and that it is warm enough to play outside!

It finally felt like summer this weekend because we went on a little vacation. We went to Utah to see my sister Izzy who just returned from her mission and it was a blast! Silas was not too fond of the car ride, but we made it. He had lots of fun with the attention from everyone, and I think he was glad for a break from our apartment!

It was fun to have all three girls home to celebrate Father's Day, but we did miss Jon and Chelsy this weekend and are excited to see them soon!

Tyrel celebrated his second Father's Day and was excited to get the movie "Willow"! When he was little, they used to watch that movie every Sunday for a month straight.

We also had the chance to go meet Tyrel's new cousin, Porter. He is so cute! Silas is going to teach him everything he knows, which should be pretty easy since they'll be about the same size in a couple of months!

Poor Izzy hurt her ankle on the last P-Day of her mission! So she was a gimp this weekend, but we still managed to get some good shopping in. With all the fun we had, it was sure hard to come back for class, but the nice weather sure helped our spirits!

Counting Down the Days

We are counting down the days until Izzy gets home (currently there are 3) and we are trying to fill them with fun things.

A few days a week I trade babysitting with my friend Paige. Silas and her daughter Seren are 3 months apart and they are pretty much best friends. We make jokes that they are going to be married some day!

We have fun playing together, the other day we played dress up and danced to a Raffi CD.

Silas and Seren pulled all of the blankets out of the cupboard and climbed in to play. The cupboard was too short so they kept bonking their heads and wondering, "what just happened?" Also, the cupboard was a little small and they kept pushing each other out of the way so they could get out.

Last night Silas and I made brownies for Tyrel to eat when he got home from work. Silas helped pour the mix in and then he decided to taste it. After that, his interest wasn't really in helping, it was more for tasting. He was a good little stirrer though.

New Skills

Tyrel tried out his baby haircutting skills for the first time last week. Silas has had a few trims just with scissors, but we decided it was time--his hair was getting too long and out of control. So we put Silas in his high chair, gave him a toy, and gave Daddy a toy (the buzzers). He was pretty good for the first part but towards the end he got tired of it and wanted to be done. It turned out great though!

Silas is also working on some new skills, we wanted to show off what he can do! The pictures are self explanitory I think.
