Silas' Latest Moments

To say the least, Silas is busy ALL the time! These are some pictures of his latest things. I left him with the can of stars and went in the kitchen to do the dishes...all the sudden I hear some pouring and this is what I found:

His new obsession is with ELMO. He could watch Elmo back-to-back all day long if we would let him. He will sit there on the lovesac and eat his pop-pop (popcorn) and be zoned into Melmo.

We have been watching home movies lately and Silas loves to see himself on the TV. He will point to it, plug in the cords, and say "Si-Si, Si-Si" until we put him on the TV.

He has this little piano that he turns upside down and sticks his crayons in the holes. Then he holds it up, says "Happy!", blows, and claps his hands "Yay!" I guess he is practicing for his birthday.

We bought a washer and dryer (LOVE THEM!!!!) and Silas loves to play in them too.

Besides trying to keep up with Silas, we are just getting ready for baby brother to come. Yesterday we painted a dresser for their room (picture to come). I also bought some crafts to keep me busy and am hoping to get them done before the baby comes...we'll see!

Some New Pics

Here are some pictures of our fun Valentine's Day and some other pictures of Silas. That evening we went to an adult dinner and dance at our old Stake with my family. It was fun to use what had learned in our social dance class and to actually get a work out (believe me, the baby and I sure got a workout!) Tyrel teased me that if I were any further along, we'd have had our baby that night.

Silas does this new thing where he makes this weird face everytime we are going to take his picture, it is hilarious!

We had our traditional Valentine's picnic in the front room of banana pancakes, sausage, fruit, and conversation hearts. While I was getting the food ready, Tyrel was stretching and Silas decided to join him...he sure is a DADDY'S BOY!

He also has taken up shaving. Whenever he hears the electric razor, he comes running saying, "Shave shave".

For Valentine's Day we got Silas the Children's Songbook CDS.

And in the couch there is a little hole that is his stash. He drops his treaures (our keys, cell phones, goldfish crackers, balls, etc.) down the hole, so we dropped a package of M&M's (one of his favorite things in life!) down the hole.

Things I Love About our New Place

Our apartment is finally all settled in and the last box is unpacked--yay! I have taken pictures of each room at its best (so I guess I should put the little disclaimer like on commercials results not typical). I just have to say that I love our new place and especially when comparing it to our first apartment I am in Heaven!

I love our bathroom because it actually has drawers and the mirror opens up with shelves!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my kitchen! It is so open and has two ways to get into it. Silas can spread his toys and my pans out to play with and I still have room to cook. I LOVE the dishwasher and the fact that it only takes me 10 minutes to clean up after dinner, including what I used to cook with. I LOVE knowing that we have washer and dryer hookups and when we get our washer and dryer (soon) that I won't have to haul my laundry to Mom's and I won't have to pay $10 each time to wash our clothes!

I LOVE that there is actually a dining room area and our table and chairs don't have to be shoved into our kitchen/front room!

I LOVE my little family as you can see and I like to show them off too!

I love how huge our front room is and that we can have our big old lovesac in it and still have SO much room!

I love that Silas' room can fit all his toys (except the one's he drags into the front room).

I LOVE our "his and hers" closets! Enough said there!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my two favorite guys (soon to be 3)!

PINK or BLUE

Whenever we mention keeping the gender of our baby a secret, we get a lot of complaints. So if you want to know what we’re having, we’re going to make you work for it!
Each statement below describes either Elena or Tyrel. If you think the statement describes Elena, write ‘girl’ in the blank and if you think the statement describes Tyrel, write ‘boy’ in the blank. At the bottom, total up how many ‘girls’ and ‘boys’ you have, the one with the most is the winner…what we are having! Be careful though, you may be fooled on a few of these! We’ll post the answers soon or I guess you could just call if you can't wait.

1. You might be a __________ if you and your brother sniffed gas when you were little.
2. You might be a __________ if you asked for “Magic Potty Baby” for Christmas.
3. You might be a __________ if you used your mom’s empty makeup compact as a Ninja Turtle “turtle-com”.
4. You might be a __________ if you were a Ninja Turtle for Halloween.
5. You might be a __________ if you had a boy Cabbage Patch doll named Pickle.
6. You might be a __________ if you remember getting up really early to attend gun shows with Dad.
7. You might be a __________ if Mom locked you out of the house in your underwear because you played in the mud and were too dirty to go inside.
8. You might be a __________ if you reminisce with your siblings about the places you used to pee outside.
9. You might be a __________ if you and your siblings played “Votes for Women” after watching Mary Poppins.
10. You might be a __________ if you participated in the Pinewood Derby.
11. You might be a __________ if you tell your spouse as a disclaimer, “It’s not in my genes to make girls.”

My Birthday to the Present...FINALLY

Okay this is kind of backwards but this is a picture of Silas and Tyrel the first morning we were in our new apartment. We had gone grocery shopping the night before and were too tired to put the non-perishables away so we left them all over the floor. Silas was in Heaven the next day when he got to sit on the floor with Dad and eat goldfish, Cheerios, and granola bars!

This is my roommate Shelley and her new little baby Hunter and me and Si-guy who looks huge next to him.

I got to go out to lunch that morning with my old roommate Jennifer while she was in town from Hawaii and with our other roommate Shelley.

Mom made Rosca for my birthday and Silas loved finding the baby dolls inside the cake! Tyrel took me out to ice cream and onion rings (yum!) And he spoiled me with a new camera and my favorite game "Ticket to Ride" aka TRAINS! Finally I am all caught up on my blogging and the million pics I have been taking.

New Years/ Christmas on the Farm

We went to the farm for New Years/Late Christmas with the King Family. Silas loved the guitar that he got (especially when the boys were playing guitar hero). He also loved to play the drum set for guitar hero.

His uncles had a good time playing with him, tossing him around, and taking him sledding.

The boys drove the snow machine around the fields, and Keslin even rode behind on his snowboard. Tyrel talked me into a short ride on the snow machine. At take-off I screamed because I was so scared but it was actually really fun!

We had a great time and enjoyed all the yummy food that Mom King made!
