I Hope they call me Elder King

A few weeks ago, we could hardly contain our excitement as we waited to see Keslin who was returning from his mission in the Phillipeans. On the way to the airport, I was talking to Silas about missions and why they call missionaries Elder. At first he said, "Mom, I just want them to call me Silas." Then after about 5 miutes he changed his mind. "Actully Mom, when I get big I'll change my name to Elder King. Then he sang his own rendition of the missionary song, "I hope they call me Elder King!" I asked him where he was going to go on his mission and he said, "Brazil, like my daddy, because I like to play soccer and dance!" Melted my heart! Now in training, the next set of future King missionaries! Good thing he has so many uncles and aunts as examples!

We sadly didn't get to meet up with Keslin during his layover in Salt Lake, but the boys gave their sign to him a few days later when we went to the farm. It was sure great to have Kes around again and after a little bit, Logan warmed up to him (they'd never met before). Logan even requested the "Uncle Keslin" bedtime song after we returned from the farm.

My Logie Bear

Celebrating my kids' birthdays is one of my favorite things about being a Mom. It's great to be able to spotlight one child and let them know how special they are for a whole day (or a whole weekend)!

Last month, my little Logie Bear turned 2! We had a fun time celebrating his bithday. Everytime we go to the dollar store, he is so in love with the Elmo balloons. I couldn't wait for his birthday to get him one. The night before his birthday, Silas stayed up and helped us decorate with signs and balloons. When he woke up, the smile on his face was priceless as he saw the Elmo balloon. Oh to be a kid again and get the greatest pleasure out of something so simple! We also had a party at Grammy's house and a cupcake party with friends in our back yard.

It's great to have "Bear" in our family! I love his little face, smile, and dimples, they are irresistable! I also love his little charming faces that he makes. He loves to say everything that Sias says as well as what Mom and Dad say. He is becoming very independent and wants to do everything for himself. (Pour the milk and cereal, climb into his car seat, put the toothpaste on the toothbrush, etc.)

House Tour Part 1

We've been working hard and are ready to give the first part of our house tour:
The Kitchen and Dining Room:

The kitchen turned out better than I ever dreamed it would! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to my Handy Hubby who just kept going on project after project. He let me have it exactly how I wanted it and never complained. And THANK YOU to all the handy friends and family who helped!

Da na na na!!! The Food Storage Room that just keeps going and going. I LOVE having a place I can keep all the great things I buy for cheap with couponing!

Now let's move outside to the backyard. We still haven't done a lot with the yard, but we have at least finished some of the projects for the kids.

We turned half of the flower box into a sandbox. Now we need to figure out how to keep the sand in the box!

So that concludes what we have to show of the house for now. Still to come...the front room and the boys' room. We are having lots of fun and are never without a project to do! I'm so grateful for our house and for all of the extra little things that it came with that are such luxuries!

Scurvey Dog! Arrrrg!

We had a fun party for Silas a few weeks ago. The theme was pirates and Logan was the cutest little pirate when you would hear him say, "Scurvey Dog!" in his little Logan voice. It was fun to be able to have some of our friends over for the first time to play at our new house.

At the end Silas openened his gifts.

This was his most important gift of all. Months and months ago, we were at the grocery store with Izzy waiting for a perscription. We went to the toy isle to play for a little bit and there Silas saw, "Don't spill the beans." He asked Izzy for it, and she said maybe for his birthday. Ever since then, anytime his birthday came up he wanted it. Or when Grammy asked what was something that Daddy wanted that we should buy for him he said, I think he wants 'Don't Spill the Beans'. Anytime someone said they had a surprise for him, he asked if it was this game. So when Izzy walked in to the party with a present, he knew what it was!
