Life in Utah

This is a picture of my parents house in Centerville, Utah where we are living right now. It is really fun to be around my family all the time, I hope Tyrel is not getting sick of us!

This is Silas drawing pictures with vanilla pudding.
Last weekend we tried round two of camping at Big Cottonwood Canyon. This time my whole family was going to go. Mom and I worked hard that morning to pack all the food and needed supplies. Then Steph, Silas, and I drove up early so we could be there by 2:00 (when you are allowed to check-in). Well we got there at 1:45 and both sites were full again. Bummer! I really wanted Silas to go camping so we set up the tent in the backyard. Then we went inside for a while to eat and get a movie. When we looked outside, it was SO windy that our tent had collapsed! We went out to fix it and Pa and Tyrel rigged up some ropes that would keep the tent staked down. While they did that, Silas was playing in the tent with us, but he got so scared when the wind blew and shook the tent. We ended up having him sleep inside with Mom and Pa. The rest of us decided to watch "Signs" out in the tent while the wind was constantly blowing (creepy!) and it was a lot of fun.

Our Two Year Anniversary!

August 12 marked two years ago that Tyrel and I were married. So the weekend before, we planned a camping trip with just the two of us up Big Cottonwood Canyon. My mom and Pa offered to watch Silas for us. So all day I packed and got everything ready for our perfect camping trip. After work, Tyrel and I drove up the canyon and at the first campsite there was a sign that said full, so we drove up to the next site and it also said full. I couldn't believe it!!! I was so bummed that our camping trip had been spoiled! So we drove back down the canyon trying to decide what to do and we found a picnic area just a little ways down. It had firepits, so we could still cook our foil dinners and roast our marshmallows. Then we sat and read our book to each other and before we left, we climbed up the mountain as far as we could go. It turned out to be really fun even though we didn't get to spend the night.

Then on Tuesday, our actual anniversary, we went out to eat at Chili's and Tyrel got a whole rack of ribs.

A Different Job

So the framing job lasted about a week until Tyrel got a better job. He is working at Wells Fargo as a teller. And it is official, he got the job with Mitch. So in November sometime he will be starting with Mitch at Miller Financial in SLC doing what he went to school for and wants to do. That is a HUGE relief that those things worked out, no one warns you before hand that just because you are graduated, it doesn't mean it's easy to get a job. I will try to get some pics up of things we've been doing but right now I have to go get packed because we are going CAMPING!

Yay A Job!

Tyrel got a job today! It's been along week of job hunting and he was getting pretty frustrated! He was just looking for something temporary until his real "career" job starts at the end of November. And today he got a framing job that pays pretty well. Farmer's tan, here he comes!

King Family Reunion

On Saturday we went to the King Family Reunion in Provo, Utah. It was fun to see everyone and get together for some great food and visiting. And it didn't even matter that it was one of the hottest days of the year. Tyrel climbed the tree with his brothers and he helped Silas blow some giant bubbles. My favorite is the pictures of the two Stephen King's having a nap.

Pioneer Day Carnival/Wheeler's Farm

We are now living in Centerville, Utah with my parents for a few months. On Pioneer Day, we took Silas to the carnival in the park. He ate SO much sugar (he was probably thinking, "This is the best day of my life!!!") When we first put him on the swing ride, he screamed and wanted to get off, but as soon as the ride started going, he loved it, just sat there chillin' and enjoying the ride. We went on it two times.

On Friday, Tyrel and his brothers went golfing and my sister-in-law, Janet and I took Silas to Wheeler's Farm and did some shopping. It was blazing HOT but we had a lot of fun!
